Step 1Start with the ballast specification
For tents, temporary structures and fencing, get the required ballast weight and connection details from your structure supplier or designer. Send those requirements with your block request.
Step 2Choose the block mix
Our full block is typically 6′ × 2′ × 2′ and approximately 3,600 lb. The half block is 3′ × 2′ × 2′ and approximately 1,800 lb. Share clearance limits and attachment requirements along with the quantity.
Use the product weight and connections specified for the installation. A lifting point is not necessarily a structural attachment point.
Step 3Coordinate arrival, unloading and placement
Send the setup date, delivery ZIP, receiving contact and access restrictions. Tell us who will unload and where the blocks need to go. Include any unloading or placement service you need in the request.
Rental companies can purchase blocks for their own inventory. Plan storage and handling after the event.
Step 4Send your requirements
Include the block type, quantity, required weight and connections, delivery ZIP and setup date. We deliver full and partial loads nationwide, with no minimum order.
The Open Jobsite Delivery Information (PDF) is optional. Event buyers can request blocks and delivery in one quote.
Tent ballast questions
How much ballast does a tent need?
Use the tent manufacturer's ballast chart for the exact tent, surface, wind conditions and installation. For example, if the plan calls for 1,500 lb at each of four legs, that is 6,000 lb total. A half block is about 1,800 lb, and your tent supplier should approve its weight, location and connection at each leg.
Can a half block be used as tent ballast?
Yes, when the tent supplier's plan accepts the block and connection. A half block weighs about 1,800 lb; confirm the actual weight for the installation.
How do you attach a tent strap to a block?
Follow the tent supplier's approved connection detail and use rated hardware. A loop connection or strap around the block is appropriate only when that exact method is approved for the installation. A lifting loop is not automatically rated for tent anchorage or side loads.
